How much booze do you consume?

1 or 2 units a week average. My wife doesn't drink at all, which means we only open a bottle of wine when friends are around. Plus I find that I really can't drink more than a pint of beer or a couple of small glasses of wine and enjoy it these days. That's fine by me.

These days I can't really tell, if I go out then maybe 30-40 units but I go months weeks at a time without having a drink. Never have caught the drinking at home bug so I'd probably class myself as a fading binge drinker.

Surely the sobriety before the night rides is compensated for at the end of the night rides (so I hear).

I go through phases, sometimes I'll drink heavily, going out most nights in the week and getting smashed, then the next week I won't touch a drop.
