How much data do you use on your smart phone?

I am wondering what sort of smart phone deal to get. Mainly I used my phone for texting, but I have downloaded the odd app. In particular, I wondered how much data people use. What does 1GB of data represent?

Usually between 2-4 GB a month... I am a reasonably heavy user, but use wi-fi where poss.

Average month 400mb but that is because most of the time I am connected to wifi. If I am away from the office/home for a long time then I can hit 2GB a month.

My contract's only for about 512 megs, which is definitely too small, but I'm on wifi at work and home so it's usually ok.
Using as portable hot spot is fabulous but then you need to ensure your provider permits tethering.

My contact is 2GB a month. I rarely use over half of that even though my phone a fair bit for browsing etc.
I only download stuff and updates over WiFi though.

I left O2 a few months ago, had 1GB on that which was enough but mainly because O2 signal was so crap round here it was barely usable. Now on better but not great connection with Vodaphone and a 2GB limit which has been fine so far too, currently have ~800MB left with 8 days to go, though we spent a long weekend in France so used it more there.
I use a lot of twitter, bit of facebook, some snapchat, what's app and general on the move browsing plus maps a reasonable amount when away from the area I know.
The better the connection, the more I tend to use it...

I have 10gb (got a special offer of double data when I started my current 4G contract almost 2 years ago). Despite heavy use, I don't think I've ever got close to using even 4gb a month).

Another one here who's unlimited on 3, (FWIW I very rarely tether), so I never check or even give it a second thought TBH.

I'm on a 2GB a month deal, and rarely use more than 1.5GB, even when streaming Spotify in the car. I do avoid video when not in WiFi range, though - I switched on tethering on a trip to London, and Drama Queen used up most of my allowance on YouTube.
