i similarly would prefer not to think about it. not a huge sum in itself, but as a proportion of income…

just ordered another brooks b17 for my winter bike (to replace the £5 aldi job i got for free anyway).

About £1200 this year, but that included a Brompton.

Whatever I've spent, most of it was money well spent for the pleasure I've had cycling over the years. For several years commuting, it was still cheaper than the bus.

Work out how much I've wasted on some cars over the years. now that would be scary.

We bought this house because it had an outhouse we could keep our bikes in. Does that count?

Thinking about bikes, bits and kit I'd estimate £6,000 in about 6 years, but hey, nobody's counting

There are some calculations that should never be done. Total spend on bicycles, gadgets and camera gear are three of these.
