Just making an observation....
I suspect most just get on with life and assume you are ok in all situations...because you are superhuman money pits with no emotional attachment, and whose only purpose in life is to not be around for them unless they decide you are worthy?

....I know I know...it aint always like that:whistle:

As the oldest child with a father currently in hospital with a Deep Vein Thrombosis at eighty I am definatly concerned about him but I wouldn't say that I am overly worried about him as the medical staff are doing thier best to clear the DVT. As a single man I have no kids worrying about me.

My two sisters and I were worried about our parents for the last 20 years of their lives because their health wasn't great in old age. One sister still lived locally and she saw them 3 or 4 times a week. My other sister drove up to visit them once or twice a week (about an hour each way). I used to go down 4 or 5 times a year, but when they got really old and frail I started going every 4-8 weeks.

The welfare of parents doesn't seem to bother some people though ... I got talking to a local woman aged nearly 90 and she told me that she only sees her kids once every couple of years. I asked if they had emigrated or lived in Cornwall, or Northern Scotland or something - "No - Leeds, it's just that they have very busy lives." That's a 1 hour journey!

Nice!:headshake:
