I think you're absolutely right, @vickster
I've always taken the view that eBay is the closest approximation of a pure market that we have. If you spell something correctly, list it in the correct categories, take decent photos, write a decent listing (I've had hundreds of mine plagiarised over the years), offer reasonable shipping and set it off with a low price on a Sunday evening, it will sell for what it's worth. After around 1500 sales over the years, I think I've been disappointed in the final price a handful of times, and so delighted with the price that I start to worry about buyer's remorse and not being paid, hundreds of times.
It is a lovely bike - I'd keep it, ride the snot out of it and chalk the rest up to experience!
