How often do you bang the crumbs out of your keyboard?

I took my macbook to the Apple shop techie to fix as the screen had gone funny as if it was flaring... he took it round the back and asked when I last threw a cup of tea over it, along with what he said were fig pips... I've never eaten a fig in my life! He dried it out and it's worked OK since. I shouldn't've said that....

[Edit: Just remembered that'll be the fig Activia yoghurt I knocked over last year...]

I don't think my keyboard gets crumbs as it usually gets jammed up with building rubble first. It gets everywhere, that and sawdust.

..anyway, tea break:cuppa: over..

Prompted by the OP I've just done this. The maid isn't going to be too impressed as I'm knee deep in rubbish now.

Thanks!...

No honestly, Thanks!

With my desktop, I undo the eight screws on the bottom and snap off the top with all the keys. The rubber membrane on the base gets a quick hoover and then I put the whole of the top in a basin of warm soapy water and give it a gentle scrub, before rinsing it and hanging it on the washing line to dry. Reassembly is the reverse of the above.

BTW, readers may be reassured that I find nothing inside more compromising than peanut crumbs and beer stains. Thank you.
