I'm not 100% sure this training will prepare the keepers for a full scale gorilla escape.

I guess it's a publicity thing then.
If a gorilla escaped they would most probably shoot it, just like they did with those wolves that escaped from Colchester Zoo last year.

A gorilla escaped at my local zoo. It mauled a bystander quite badly before being barricaded into the restaurant where it was shot with tranquilizer.
