How to get to sleep quicker.

    If you take a long time to get to sleep, I was told a new method yesterday. Here it goes:
    -Take a breath for 4 seconds.
    - Hold it for 7 seconds.
    - Breathe out for 8 seconds.
    It is called the 4-7-8 method. I tried it last night and can't remember going to sleep so maybe it works?

    I'll be honest, if I was struggling, that would definitely not help.

    It certainly wouldn't help the person lying next to you get to sleep. Besides, how are you supposed to time to the second in the pitch dark?

    I go over the day's ride in my head. I never reach the end.

  10. Make sure your feet and bum are warm. Listen to the Shipping Forecast if you're desperate. (Does it go on all night? I don't know, I've never got further than 'reports from coastal stations...')

    I've had 3 nights this week of virtually no sleep, same again 2 weeks ago.

    Wearing a bit thin now!.

    Radio 4 and hope those atrocious BBC schools programmes don't wake you up before morning. @Amanda P 's shipping forecast: I've actually tried to follow the morning one but I've nearly always fallen asleep again before they get to the end.
