@KnackeredBike I have been on Armadillos for a while, they eventually delaminate and start to sound very strange before going bang, I had one that split when riding - what a fright - thankfully it was the rear.
Am now on Marathon Plus - they seem to be the business , 3000 mile, still look like new and no punctures

Famous last words indeed - I had 3 punctures within 3,000 miles last year despite using Marathon pluses. I was probably just a bit unlucky, but replaced them with Specialized All Condition Armadillos anyway, which are supposed to be puncture resistant (but don't make any implicit "puncture proof" claims - in fairness, Schwalbe don't either, but people who rave about M+ often seem to, hence my bitter disappointment after my experience), they have less tread and seem to roll better, no problems as yet - perhaps even more famous last words
