I have ridden an Altena two wheeler tandem, which is a bit more upright than that, and was ok on it. But I think I'd prefer 3 wheels for ultimate stability, and the option to make the best of downhills!
Some friends of mine have a Trice tandem, and they rode it through France with us. It took about a week to overtake it, it was so long, and then they screamed past again on every descent!
If you think having a recumbent trike attracts attention, you need to try riding with people who have a recumbent trike tandem.... Just when you think people's jaws can't drop any more....
