I would bugger his day up more by reporting it ! He sounds like a proper piece of scum who will no doupt not think (proberly cannot do that anyway) twice of pulling out on a cyclists again and they might not be able to defend themselves as well as you did.
Well done for sending the slob bully and it's chav bint on their way !

Actually, having a more intense thought about the situation, I have come to a conclusion of what I think happened.

1. He SMIDSYed or SMIDGAFed you and you collided with the side of him.
2. Before having a chance to speak to the driver, he disregards concern for your safety and starts giving you abuse for the collision.
3. You see this as a threat to your safety and decide the best option is to remove yourself from being vulnerable in the middle of the road and go to where you can check your bike and yourself properly.
4. The driver follows you, and as you are checking your bike, shoves you from behind whilst giving you abuse.
5. You confront the driver with (this is where I may be wrong) either questioning his driving standards or you just punch him as a retaliation from the push.
6. He sees this as a point to leave the whole situation and returns to his car whilst him and his wife continue to give you abuse.
7. The witness across the street approaches you, asks if you are okay, and informs you that he witnessed the whole thing.

I am not sure if you gave him abuse at any point (you didnt say) but by the sounds of it, you were in the right.

If not to post the video for people to critisize, then just do it so we can see you knock the pr1ck out.

1 to 4 Yes
5 The driver confronts me and I am facing him when he gives me a shuff so when he comes towards me again I chin him.
6-7 Yes

The abuse I gave him was when he started on me straight after the incident with the 118 part.

I wouldn't want someone posting a video of me either good or bad on the internet without my knowledge and is a little unfair.

First off, glad you're ok.

This guy committed at least a couple of offences:
1 he pulled onto a box junction when he was not clear to move straight off ( you were tere)
2 he pulled out on you causing and injury - driving without due care and attention
3 he assaulted you!

You automatically reacted to defend yourself having just suffered from the shock of e accident.

He should be banned, fined and have to pay you compensation for the assault and damage to your bie as well as public transport costs while your bike is in for repair.

Check the video, report it and claim on his insurance - the bar steward deserves it.

Not sure this is a good or bad but just got home and want to get it out....

Driver pulls out on me into a box junction and I hit him square in the drivers door and up I go in the air. First thing I get as I come crashing down is a mouthful of abuse. I ignore him and check my bike quickly over ie is it rideable and it was. Damage to his car a good scuff mark and the door has dented inwards. At this point he is still hurling abuse and wanting details so I reply Dial 118 F*£$K O$F! and ride off down the road to a place to pull in, this is where it gets worse!

As I am looking at my bike he gets out the car with real attitude (fat git in an England Shirt mid to late twenties walks straight upto me and with his blubbery weight gives me a good shove. As he comes at me again I give him a good left jab giving him broken sun glasses and a bloody nose. At this point he didn't come back for more and a good deal of abuse exchanged. In the end he buggered off with the mouthy female who got out with him.

I was left a bit shocked and a gentleman got out of his car from the line of traffic that wasn't moving in the opposite direction and says I have it all on my phone mate, here's my number etc I'll send you the video if you need it..

My front wheel is a little buckled but I think he came off worse. Should I bother reporting it or just take it as one of those things that happen? Wife reckons I should leave it but being 43 I feel a bit guilty in giving him a slap.
I'd report him and claim from him for damage to your bike - It'll cost him dearly in increased pemiums/lost NCB and may teach him a lesson.

glad you are fine Paul
I reported an offence about a year ago and have not regretted it
Drivers now pass me by wider along the strip of similar road as I now cycle more confidently in a more primary position
Now conviction but the drivers on my commute all seem to know that they don't @&*k with me.

Police mate - only way - get that footage

I think I would report it, especially if I had a witness's contact details and I would make a claim against his insurance if the Police pursued the matter by going to visit the driver in question.

I would also make sure that I told the Police that i had no choice but to defend myself.

Handling it in this way should keep you in the clear and will probably make sure the guy doesn't attempt something like this again, on someone less able than you!

Well done for standing up to an obvious bully. :bravo:

He was already outside. If someone is outside, you cannot take them outside and shoot them.

I get the impression you have very little hands-on experience in the field of summary justice.

This may or may not be a good thing.

I assume English isn't your first language as dawesome obviously wasn't speaking literally. And correcting someone's choice of words is trivial and hardly relevant here.

You don't appear to posses any empathy either: maybe, if you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in a similar position as the OP, you might appreciate the situation a bit better.
