What's the upside-down method? Anyhow, I'd forgotten that it came with a funnel. I wonder what I did with it.

Insert piston to required mark.
Fit paper to filter.
Stand cylinder upside down
Add coffee
Add water
Stir
Screw filter holder on
Wait a bit to brew coffee
Turn back the right way up onto cup.
Press plunger.

The idea is to get around the drip before pressing problem. I don't bother, instead put the plunger in lightly and let it brew a few seconds. The plunger does vacuum magic and reduces dripping.
