Well, having heard nothing I took it upon myself to ask and I quickly received the following reply from North Yorkshire Police (Operation Spartan):-

The driver was sent a conditional offer of a fixed penalty notice with the opportunity to take a driver awareness course at their own cost. This is the standard approach that is taken to offences even when they are observed by Police Officers and a national standard across all police forces.

Thank you for the footage and allowing us to take action against this driver.

So what would this have cost the driver, "conditional offer of a fixed penalty notice with the opportunity to take a driver awareness course at their own cost." ?

As others have said, it's about £100- £120 for the course. You are only given so long to do it, and the dates are set for you, you have very little choice.
If you get caught again within three years, the option of the course is removed.
