I don't really have anybody left to say it to, other than my sisters I suppose, but we don't really do that.

You'd be surprised at who would appreciate it.

I told my friend the other night that I loved her (she actually told me she loved me too!) and it was quite a heartfelt moment. We'd lived together during our 2nd year at uni and she told me that I was the only one that made her resolved not to drop out (I was the only "normal" person on our course, apparently!). I meant it in the sense that I genuinely cared about her life and how she felt - her parents went through an acrimonious divorce during our time living together. I think we'd always felt a bit different from the crowd, but not in that whiny, teenage way. I'm glad she didn't quit uni. Now she goes out with one of my mates (with whom I lived during my Masters year).

If you felt comfortable with it, maybe you could say it to one of your sisters? Saying "I love you" is wonderfully disarming. One has to mean it, though.
