Punctures through objects or pinch flats? If the former, what tyres are you using?

Is the rim tape covering all the spoke holes?

check your puncturedtubes and see if the holes are all in the same place .

The tyres are detonators I couldn't see glass or anything sharp in the road and can't see anything sharp in the tyres.

You're unlikely to be able to see anything unless it's huge. Run your fingers slowly around the inside of tyre and the wheel rim. You should discover the source of your woes.

I'd recommend Coninental Gatorskins or 4 Seasons, others will go for Schwalbe Durano, still more Vittoria Rubino...

Comes down to preference and budget at the end of the day but the above three are all rated well.

Detonators aren't the best. I have them on the Whyte. I have some replacement Vittorias for when the fairy first strikes

Marathon plus are another option if not having punctures far outweighs going quickly (e.g. On a commute)

May invest in some decent tyres then, any recommendations please?

I previously used Continental Gatorskins throughout the year, but this year have moved to Schwalbe Marathon Plus for Winter and Spring and will put the Gatorskins back on when the regularly poorer weather has gone. Don't know if it is psychological, but the ride feels harsher on the Schwalbes for the equivalent pressure, but I take some mental comfort from having some tread on the tyres.

Marathon Plus are stiff so often harsh. Ordinary Marathons softer so nicer ride, but less tough sidewalls. "Active Line" (Delta Cruiser and similar) even less protected but still often good enough.

Schwalbe One are meant to be very good but they're pretty new and quite expensive yet.

I run CST XPEDIUM Safe+, not had any punctures yet (touch wood!).

It has been accidentally ridden over smashed glass a few times as well, was ready for the inevitable flat but it never happened!.
