I thought I was meant to ride the bike?

Someone on here collecting those, if you don't intend fixing them.

To be honest one of the tubes I wasted the valve, I had one of those CO2 jet kits and I hadn't released the presta valve.

I managed to wreck the tube and discharge the whole co2 can and feeeze my hands at the same time.

Oh and as I carried the bike away I drop my Mojito lid, 2017 cycle season is starting well! lol

May invest in some decent tyres then, any recommendations please?
If you really can't ever have a puncture, these are actually very good. I ran the slightly wider Hybrid versions for a while.

If you want a tyre which will nearly never allow an intrusion puncture, but don't mind them being a bit ' draggy '.

These are my weapon of choice.

If you want good speed and grip, but you don't mind them being as puncture resistant as a stripe of toothpaste. These are very good, but not as puncture resistant as they would like you to think.

These are the ones.

@mickle isn't bothered. Check out his inner tube museum!

Things can only get better from here on.

If you're able, turn the tyre outside in, when off the wheel and check, by feel, for anything that shouldn't be there.

I had 23mm Gatorskins but after several visitations I went for 25mm Ultra Gatorskin folders. All good so far but they were very hard to get on without levers, so much so I've stared to carry a tyre-jack type of lever as the prospect of a roadside "repair". Needn't have worried though, I took a tube out recently for what ended up to be a valve problem and got the tyre back on easily, so they must stretch.

It's not the stand as if I hold it I can feel it pulling up and down, I deflated the tyre and re-inflated it, I dare not take it out like these.

Could the quick release be too tight?

It's really hard to tell from that angle. Doesn't seem to be rubbing or catching at all. Are there any lumps or swellings in the tyre?

You've given it a mighty spin for a stand like that so my money is on the stand.

I thought so as well, but if I lift the bikes rear off the floor I can feel it dragging up and down, I removed the front wheel and spun it while holding it and there is some awful movement, just riding it round the corner and back and it feels very unstable.

So the wheel is moving up and down in the drop outs? Sounds like the QR is too loose more than anything else!

Let me try tighening them both, it's a sad day when I can't even repair tyres/tubes.

Had a look at your profile and you're new to the game so no worries! Also that you've gone from hybrid to road relatively recently - you'll find, generally that road tyres and rims are a tighter fit than hybrid.

Youtube has loads of really good how to videos if you're struggling.

Cheers for checking that I should've said.

Tight isn't the word it's like this things cold welded to the rim! haha

Oh man this sucks when changing tyres takes all afternoon and I am still not there.

The LBS saw from FB that I was struggling and said if I want to bring it round tomorrow, but I will feel a complete failure doing that.
