I spent 15 minutes today trying to remove the ice from my car. And that was at 10 am. I've got deicer liquid (very good invention imo) and right now I'm going into town to buy a windscreen cover.

Yep, they are brilliant, I have it on my Focus. I'm surprised they aren't fitted as standard to all cars, the same as heated rear screens.

Tabloid hacks suggest rubbing half an onion over the glass. Any sugar solution will work the same, raising the boiling point and lowering the freezer point of water. Salt does the same . Vinegar and alcohol solutions also work.
