I have blocked a cyclist, but that was only because they kept playing cat and mouse between all the sets of traffic lights around Woking. They'd go to the front, we'd all overtake them, they'd go to the front, etc, etc. I went further left to save having them undertake again when I knew they wouldn't be catching me up again. It also saved them being overtaken closely by the cars in front and saved me waiting behind them

Didn't do it for their safety, just did it as it made it more easier for me. I wouldn't of minded if they weren't dawdling along.

I hate RLJs doing that...

This problem would be solved if people chilled out about RLJ

HAH, he wasn't RLJing . Just there are a few sets quite close to each other so it is easy for slower cyclists to catch up. I would filter through there if I was on a bike, but then I time it so I've got enough momentum that I can beat the cars between the lights, otherwise I wouldn't force myself to the front.

I just got fed up having to pass this chap.

Nasty. I was cycling in a well it urban environment yesterday. I came to the end of a road to turn and as I was about to turn a car turned into the road I was on and just missed me. Yet I was right next to the curb on the correct side of the road!

He literally almost ran over my foot as I'd stopped at the junction.

I always put my feet in front of the pedals when i stop at lights, as I am paranoid about getting my feet run over, so figure that they would hit the pedals before they hit my feet.

My first thought is what happens if you are shunted from the rear? The pedals will take your legs out.

I was hit from behind at 30mph - although I was standing still, waiting to turn right. Fortunately, I tend to drop one foot to the floor and let the bike seat rest underme. When the car hit the bike, we both moved but the bike shot out from in front me. If I was standing in front of the pedals I dread to think what may have happened.

Just a thought...
