No, you drive like a nob, im not going to get in a car with you untill you actually learn how to drive.
Someone in my family(somewhere) got his son a Land Rover Defender V8, the Lara Croft one, and hes only just 17.
Its worrying

don't worry, the handling of that will scare him witless on the first fast corner!

What about saying that you suffer from car sickness when driven at speed on windy roads. And that you haven't got your tablets on you, but that you if he was going to drive more sensibly you could come with him...

FFS just have the balls to tell him he's a dangerous driver and you're not going in his car until he winds his neck in. It could be the best favour you've ever done him.

Last summer a 19 y.o. crashed his new Honda Civic type R a couple of miles from my house on a country lane. We heard sirens and saw a helicopter so we knew it was something bad. His front passenger (no seatbelt) went through the windscreen and was found dead in the field, he and his three back seat passengers were all stuffed into the back seat with mutliple fractures - femurs, pelvises etc. All were aged 19 to 21. and from our area. The Police estimated his speed at 85 mph on a narrow walled lane to the point where the Civic took off from a hump. Now there's a pathetic plastic floral tribute to the lad who died and the driver has to live with that for the rest of his life.

If your mate doesn't grow up, consider having a quiet word with the local beat officer, he will arrange for some Traffic officers to go round for a chat. It can be done and our residents' association have had it done to a lad in our street with excellent results.

.

Of course that's the best thing to do but life isn't always so easy and straightforward when you're young IIRC.
