Hmmm... That's not so bad. Excellent.

It's roughly the same as doing back to back LELs but with nastier hills at the start and end given that Cornwall/Devon is bonkers. 185miles per day is what we had to keep up for LEL.

LEJOG is about ~1300km in the really direct route, 1425km in an average route avoiding the worst of the main roads, and 1500km (and more) if you go for the really laney route.

Both ways in 10 days deserves respect, especially if there's some weather.

Absolutely. I didn't mean to imply anything other than respect for this, or the OP.

A colleague is doing LEJOG this summer, and put the mileage (one way) at 1200. I guessed his wasn't the most direct route, but in my head I was concerned that screenman might say '240'.
Attainable, I'm sure, but a lot more frightening than our (comparatively) reasonable 185 :smile:

@amaferanga bianchi1 isn't talking rubbish he's talking from experience...

Read what they both said...

Bianchi1's experience may have been him having bad knees himself, but that doesn't mean everyone doing LEJOG will get bad knees.

A proper bike setup, and adequate miles in the legs, should mean no lasting pain or injuries other than mild discomfort that should pass in a couple of days.

Exactly. That's what I was saying. He was talking from (his own) experience and was hence not talking rubbish.

I don't question that he had bad knees for 2 months after the ride (read what I wrote), but his suggestion was that everyone should '....be prepared for bad knees for about two months after the ride' which IS quite absurd.
