"Mr Happy" the consultant has rollocked me for moving about,saying I should keep still for 2 months! Seeing as they haven't offered me any anti clotting jabs I think it's best if I keep mobile. I wish they'd give me some anti depressants. I'm starting to have dodgy thoughts and dreams!

ask for some morphine, you will see and hear some wonderful things..................

I have some earplugs somewhere but I can't find 'em. They've turned all the feckin' lights out so I can't root for them. Ah well, at least I have some headphones. I'll listen to the radio to cut out the noise. The pee smell is getting stronger!!

Oh bugger. Get Well soon. PS I know how you feel with the hospital, but I had six and a half weeks of it. Most of the 16 people in our ward were elderly, and only two young idiots that had broken their backs.

I don't know. They asked me to lift and stretch my leg etc. When they saw I could do this quite easily they must've assumed it was OK.

It doesn't work for me. Either for pain relief or getting high. Though when I had it 9 years ago for the cancer I had, it did work. Maybe they gave me a much higher dose?

Hopefully the food isnt too bad :/ though I heard some places, they give you a small fillet steamed salmon with broccoli. At least this was the case when me mam was down great ormond street hospital after an operation.

I can't complain about the food.Some meals have been a bit hit and miss but most have been very good. The roast beef,sprouts and Yorkshire pud' followed by sponge and custard I had for lunch was excellent!

I'm back home. They sent me home in an ambulance, concerned that i was going to ride my bike home the 5 miles. I would've stayed if i had the choice but the place is full and they needed my bed. I'll pick my bike up when i go back for a check up next week. I hope it doesn't get nicked in the meantime.

What have they told you to do recovery wise?
Any occupational health visit arranged, etc?

Ambulances should have bike racks.

I thought about asking if they'd put my bike in the ambulance and save me the hassle of picking it up, but i think if i had they would've thought "that bugger will be riding it, so if we keep it here he can't" Little do they know i have two others.

Seriously though no cycling for me for quite a while.

No district nurse visits or anything like that. They say they'll send me a date for a check up next week and that's it.

When I got home after my accident the raised toilet seat, perching stool, grabbing thing and lots of other "goodies" had already been delivered.
