Until fairly recently I've had no interest in FTP/power but since am now doing 99% of my 'hard' riding in doors am keen to see if I can improve my FTP.
My weight is pretty stable at 75kg, and coming up to 40 recovery definitely takes longer than it use to.
My first 20 minutes FTP test back in May was just under 200 watts and the one I did yesterday was just under 240watts.
If possible I would like to get over 250watts on the 20 minute test, but yesterdays effort really wiped me out, you can see towards the end I was really struggling!!
Over the last 2 months I've been mainly doing HIT and grinding sessions at low cadence. Would doing more lower intensity session help me to reach the magical (for me) 250watts figure by the end of year??
I'm not really interested in a 'discussion' about the accuracy of power figures, more about the kind of riding to do to improve fitness
