Lighten up everyone!
Nobbers who wear helmet lights have other, less obvious hazards to negotiate...sometimes.

You're attributing to me a position I don't hold. Have you mistaken me for someone else?
Nope:
... it can be useful when your approach to side roads is lined with parked cars obstructing the view of emerging drivers.
and you (and more) took exception when I said not to ride so as to be hidden by parked cars. But instead of lighting up, like @Aperitif says, lighten up

Like I said, it's not always possible to not be masked by parked cars. That's not 'idiotic riding'.

And what did the 'it' in my sentence refer to? Clue: it was in the part of the sentence you left out.

I'd forgotten that jersey. I wonder if I can get a replacement.

P.S That's actually a camera from back in the days I wore a helmet.

If you mean me (on the right) it's thankfully not a Livestrong helmet!!

Edit: just been to check. It's an old Selev helmet circa 2008. They were briefly worn by some pro peloton teams around that time. The photo was taken around 2010

That's your opinion and you're welcome to it!

A be-seen-type light, but the meaning of that depends on your attitude to being seen - in an urban context, some people feel they must compete with cars and floodlights. Anyway, I don't think we're ever going to agree on head torches v parked cars, so let's leave it before it gets to name-calling and hope neither of our approaches results in any harm.

If I meant you ^_^ not many man mountains in that picture - blimey can't believe you get any aggro commuting on the bike. Just pulling your leg it does look like a torch though! (and a livestrong helmet) ^_^

^_^ you'll see from other threads that I get the same close passes etc as others. However I do have a habit (which I'm trying really hard to cure) of putting my bike on the floor in front of cars and tapping on windows. Most drivers find the top of their steering wheel fascinating at this point and ignore me. I feel sad when this happens.

He's a big norvern wuss..but he's our big norvern wuss... and I say that standing next to him in the pic...:okay:

And his bike in the pic.. it was never cleaned... ever... pure filth.

Notice how his saddle near reaches my armpit.
