Lost my memory stick so I rootled around in the drawer where I keep 'useful things' (almost all of them, needless to say, utterly useless) and came up with an old 1Gb SanDisk titanium stick. Only touble is, when I tried to use it, I got 'Write Protected' messages. 20 minutes googling and trying remedies failed to make any difference, so I rang SanDisk technical support.
They said it was a known issue, and they'd replace it for free, even tho' I told them it was five+ years old and I didn't know where I'd bought it from. I was well impressed! Unfortunately 1) they don't make that model any more, so they offered me three options - all rather nasty plasticy ones, as against my bulletproof titanium jobbie (albeit 2gb...I don't think anyone does 1gb ones anymore) and 2) I had to send it back to them in Czechoslovakia. Which, I discovered, would involve £3+ postage as well as jumping through various hoops. So I put it in the bin, and bought a new Kingston 16gb like the one I lost, for £7, instead.
