My girfriend got a text message read out on the Chris Moyles Show yesterday.
"Wow!" I hear you say in a not-entirely convincing tone. OK, lots of people get messages read out on the radio, but this one made me really proud to be part of her life.
Those of you who follow the show may be aware that "Comedy" Dave (sic) has recently been getting some stick from his colleagues for the manner IN - WHICH - HE - SPEAKS - VERY - LOUDLY - AND - SLOWLY - TO - FOREIGNERS.
Apparently on yesterday's show they were talking to a girl from Sweden whose grasp of the English language was probably more advanced than the majority of Radio 1's audience, yet when confronted with the merest hint of a foreign accent, Dave lapsed into his usual routine, thus prompting my girlfriend to fire off the following message, which was then broadcast to the nation (much to Dave's chagrin):

What have the important people in your life done to make you feel really proud?

I can't believe Dave did his "slow talk for foreigners" to the Swedish lass who spoke perfect English. Patronising moron."
