I'd hope he'd use a condom ! ^_^

At his age he’s lost a lot of the sensation….

I feel your pain. Our lurcher has gotten away twice, and there is zero value in chasing as like you whippet is a 40mph dog. Only off lead in secure fields, and on an anti slip harness when out. Shame as it is wonderful to see him go.

Cage/crate is the answer either inside or outside the van

Those who suggest harnesses don't you ever wonder where the dog can pull the strongest from?

Whippets are slippery buggers. Mine was a proper escape artist, even harnessed. He loathed his crate in our van, fine at home though.

I have quick Lurchers and have done fun lure racing with them. He is an escapologist but will only go as far as the nearest squirrel, the other is a Mummy’s boy and glued to my side, even with squirrels.

For the record, I can’t run at 40mph either.
