Your BIG mistake is taking your Exped 7 mat.

I got our tents put up on the lawn the other day to air them out, along with our Exped 7 mats. I thought I would have a Lie down in the tent for 5 minutes as it was warm and sunny. 4 hours later I woke up.

Those Mats are impegnated with a sleep drug. Your going to miss half your weekend.

humph been bitten too many times as it is... when is the next full moon?

still have some issues with them and it is clear that the blood supply has not reestablished itself. the skin frequently goes grey rather than pink if it gets cold or even just cool. get some strange stabbing pain from time to time which I have to stop for and can't yet walk more than about 5 miles in a day which given I used to do 27 miles or more in a day is still restrictive to say the least! but at least I have finally gotten used to not being able to feel the leg and for properly just need to sort the balance issues out!
but on the bright side of things the scars have healed well and still look like a shark bite, much more impressive than a dog bite!

Badger or adder - wow! I have never even seen a live badger or adder in real life, let alone got close enough to be bitten by one. Tell us more!

I know about your ghastly experience with the dogs.

I have had some near misses with dogs myself, but got away with minor nips.

I had a huge Doberman go for me once on a steep climb but I saw it loping across a field in my direction, saw that it meant business, and did a skidding u-turn in the road as it leapt over a dry stone wall to get at me. It pursued me down the hill but I just managed to sprint away from it. I almost crashed the bike on a 90 degree bend below which I took at warp speed. I have never laid a bike down so low in my life! The same dog mauled the local postman a few days later ... Bloody negligent dog owners!
