Could depend on the version of Windows.
On W11 prc sn for example doesn't do a screen print but opens up the snipping tool.

Make that London Euston

That would be even longer if you went on West Midlands Railways!

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
In the 1920s it took 2 hours to get from Birmingham New Street to London Paddington. It now takes 2 hours and 20 minutes.

You could go from Birmingham to Paddington if you didn't mind changing at Oxford. It would take a while though.

But if you got a direct train to Euston instead it could take as little as 1hr 19 min

And if you looked sharp you should be able to make it to Paddington in under 2 hours. But it would mean getting the Circle from Euston Square which is rubbish

And New St to Bournemouth is now 3h 9m against 4h 40m in the picture. But that comes at a price.

It used to be 2s 6d (12.5p) for a single, but it's now (takes a deep breath and prepares to enter the confusing world of ticket prices) Cheapest is £22.60 for an is a standard class advance single. That's not bad, a mere 180x the 1920s price. A quick google says that inflation means that todays prices are 77x 1925 prices. So it has roughly doubled in real terms. Not shocking.

But if you aren't into advance planning, an off peak single is £134.10. An anytime single is £141.60. And if you want to pay as much as possible, an anytime first class is £312!

Interesting picture, thanks

When that photo of the LMS advert for its service to London Euston was taken there was an alternative from Birmingham Snow Hill to London Paddington by the Great Western which ran via High Wycombe. Today there is a similar service by Chiltern Railways but that goes to London Marylebone.

I travelled to Snow Hill from Marylebone a couple of years ago. I forget why I chose that route. I quite like Marylebone, it's a nice civilised little station.
