Yep. As a school kid I worked at a butchers in the evenings and weekends and we had one of these infernal contracptions. It was single speed and had rod brakes too which required telepathy to enable you to stop in time to avoid unexpected hazzards. I was a late developer and was very small back then and I think the bike probably weighed nearly as much as I did :ohmy:. Made a man out of me though having to peddle the bloody thing. I even got a bit of off-roading on it as we had deliveries to houses down farm tracks. I was surprisingly confortable off-road, mainly due to the springy saddle and large tyres. However you had to keep the speed low as any bumps tended to eject the contents (e.g. eggs) out of the basket (don't ask me how I know this).
