iphone 3gs...how to unlock?

i found an iphone 3gs on the side of the road, the back light is bust (i'm assuming that's why it was on the side of the road with no sim). i rang the police and reported it, that was months and months ago and i'm past the length of time for it to become my property.

i've jail broken it but don't know how to unlock it so i can use it on my network. i've tried rainsnow and blacksnow and followed the instructions.

does anyone know of any other and simpler software?

Have you fixed the backlight then? (If not, how can you see what you are doing?)

Local phone shop? Perhaps they could fix the back light too?
