is a mobile phone covered under Cycle insurance

Recently i fell off my bike, luckily i was able to brake my fall with only a few bruises, however my phone went flying having a good cover saved most of it but my screen is cracked on the point that i need to replace it. Looking forward i looked at phone insurance that's way to expensive and i don't really need it because this is the first time i ever brake an phone, so i would asses my risk only during cycling.
So my question is really anyone has experience claiming this or knows if its covered. Read a few tos but there not really clear except for cyclegaurd. Since i don't use much other cycle gear it is important to decide on going for a accessorises premium(assuming it is covered under that) of just for liability instead. Also can anyone who is member of British cycling or Ctc clarify whether a insurance is included or just discounted when you become a member? British cycling seems to be it's own insurance broker, but the way ctc writes it implies more like you get an discount.

Your part of membership cycle cover only covers 3rd parties - Eg you are at fault in injuring a pedestrian or someone else’s property (car). It won’t cover you own stuff

Nor will bike insurance, that covers a bike. If worried about breaking your phone in any circumstance, you need to have accidental damage cover specifically for it

If unsure about any sort of insurance, phone the provider to clarify

As above, BC only includes 3rd party indemnity insurance

Thanks all for the replies so far, i was thinking it would be covered but it's quite unclear in most terms. Cycleguard says a ''gps device mounted on the bicycle'' is covered but i doubt if they would accept a phone as such.

Phone and ask. However, this from the site is pretty clear!

With a cycleGuard policy you can choose to include cover for your accessories up to £500 (mobile phones not included) against theft and accidental damage, to help give you peace of mind when you’re out there on the trails. To find out more about the levels of cover we can provide for cyclists, see some of our product features below.

Perhaps some kind of mobile phone insurance would have been in order?
Or a padded bag for the phone.

looked at those too but they are too expensive, i was more looking at it as i need to arrange my liability anyway maybe i could get cover for in this case my phone too but a seperate phone cover is not worth it. I just put some money aside in case it happens again.

Is your screen protected?

I don't think any specialist cycle insurers cover your phone. What about your home insurance? Can you add phone cover?

I get my phone covered through the bank (albeit there is an excess), have to pay but get car breakdown and travel insurance. Plus a tastecard which probably saves me enough to cover the monthly subs

More expensive than a new phone?
Yes looking at my history for now it is, i can get an new one next year but this one is still good so with new screen it only has to last me a other year. With the cost of insurance included if have to break my screen 2 more times to make the insurance worthwhile.
