I have heard it said that there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers.

This is clearly nonsense.

There are stupid questions where the asker is just uneducated in the subject.
There are stupid questions where the asker should know the answer just by managing to survive to adulthood.
And there are are stupid questions where the asker is just stupid.

Ask away. The answer may correspond to the categories above.

Some of the best threads are about stupid things, I mean look at the helmet thread, utterly stupid but still it goes on.
