Thinking about taking the 'guards off the Planet X soon.
Icarus will stay with guards fitted as that is for wet club rides and the Helium doesn't have 'guards on at all.

Mudguards stay on all the bikes all year. We live in a rainy country - get used to it. If your mudguards are annoying, replace them with better ones. If your bike doesn't take mudguards well, sell it to someone more gullible or who will leave it in the shed unridden.

The only difference between summer and winter here is that the rain can be slightly less cold in summer, but even that is not always true. Last summer was a LOT wetter than the autumn!

took the front mudguard off the commuter just now; it's a nightmare to stop rubbing without moving the thing to the point where it provides no cover at all. the back is staying on in case i need to ride a damp club run on it…
