Is the Carrera Intercity Disc 9 a significantly better ride than the Disc 8?

Its an effectively new bike, so worth investing in new guards. If you love it as much as my ID9 you'll never part with it, so the 20 snifters spent on the guards would be an excellent long term investment.

Chucking in some random locations a few minutes ago on the Halfords site page, I've discovered there is at least one £250 Intercity Disc 8 folder at the Llantrisant store, ~12 miles from Cardiff.

Don't forget your British Cycling 10% discount or similar!

Just randomly window shopped the Halfords folding bikes and there's two new Carrera folders, one with 7-speed and mechanical disc for ~£325 and a 9-speed one with hydraulic brakes for ~£450!

While mulling this over, typically I cancelled my £50 British Cycling memebership renewal recently, so need to check what the BLC discount is and possibly convince my better half to buy one/two for us.

Not the same bike. I think it's to maintain the same price point. No more branded Shimano and it's a steel fork.

I noticed it's labelled as the intercity2 version hence the changes I suppose

The rear frame looks like the old v-brake Intercity with the addition of discs. A road.cc review suggested a fairly weighty 14.6kg for the original Intercity as opposed to the ID9's more svelte sub 12kg
