Well, that was a bit epic.
Serious side winds trying to blow me off my bike, followed by head winds blowing me back up hill again, which wasn't half as bad as head winds almost bringing me to a complete stop. Then came the rain - serious stuff, not the heavy downpour from when I started. This stuff was coming down in sheets. Then a trip through the park in the dark with random twigs and bigger strewn across the path.
Then I took a shortcut that I had never explored before, in the dark. As bad ideas go, this one was pretty bad. I thought it would be just a quick trip over the bridge, and then straight on to the end of a cul-de-sac. Instead it was a quick trip over a bridge, followed by a dirt track barely wider than a bike with random branches sticking out, and a tree right across the path. Oh, and puddles varying from wheel size to several metres. All in the dark.
Got home, took off my gloves and poured water out of them. It was THAT bad.
