Hells teeth! It was incredibly windy here but no flooding.

The rain wasn't too bad in Sheffield last night, but the 40-50 mph gusting side wind was a bugger.

You should have done like we did in Newcastle and got all your flooding out of the way earlier in the year.

Went around the roundabout today, but caught a glimpse of the cycle path canal, and it's even more full than yesterday (despite the fact it's about 300 feet from a fire station who could easily pump it out in to the adjacent field).

Perhaps the best part about Birmingham being essentially a small mountain with houses all over it is the biggest puddles are miles away. There is one part of my daily journey that is always flooded, though. It's funny, because it has always been closed off with a sign or with cones, yet the drivers just push it out of the way and hope for the best. Was fun watching an expensive Audi back out at the last minute and force the Cayenne behind to do some odd reversing manoeuvre though.

I passed over the River Frome today and from my view point high above on the cycle path I could see it had flooded. It was impossible to see where the path below was.

Today's ride although cold was actually quite bright and sunny. Roads were a bit wet but not a lot of flooding around.

Today's commute was good - sun and as the motorway was closed I was definitely the fastest thing around (even at my snail's pace), and they had removed the tree that fell last night.

Oddly, my lycras, after spending the whole day in the boiler cupboard at work actually felt wetter when I put them back on this evening than when I took them off this morning!

That is the worst thing about wet weather. My clothes were pretty much dry when I put them on after yesterday's shift but I can still feel the slight feeling of damp on the spine which seeped in on the way home.

That depends. In terms of continental drift, Wednesday is very soon. If you are already up to your knees in water, though, it would probably seem like eons.

I'm lucky in that my house is positioned fairly high up and away from bodies of water, however others haven't been so lucky. As I've mentioned elsewhere, the lower floor/shop section of the cafe I visited on my ride today had been totally flooded, and the water had only just receded enough for them to start cleaning up!

Not to mention the fact that constantly coming across floods blocking roads, and being soaked by cars when out on the bike, gets kind of annoying!
