Mine is on all year and I hate it. All it does to me is leave me sleepy but Mrs Slick runs much colder than I do so it's a constant battle as she turns it up all the time and I switch it off every time I pass the controller. Obviously I'm on a loser, but I do try.

You could try using some letraset numbers on the controls to change what she thinks the temperature is.. might work

I'm sure for a normal human your suggestion has at least a soupcon of reaching a successful outcome, experience tells me that Mrs Slick may be a superhuman being from another planet as she has the capability of noticing the slightest micro change in temperature, much like Predator in the Arnie movie. In the previous abode, I did have a sneaky control of the heating from my phone, but she rumbled that pretty quickly.

To overcome the problem, she just winds it up to defcon 2, sits back and watches the wallpaper sliding down the wall

Ha ha, certainly answers the debate about what has the greatest effects on our life, genes or environmental.

To be fair, Thanet gets hammered in turn by weather from the North Sea and then The Channel, so they turn them out tough. Problem is, cos they don't venture out often they're often interrelated to the point that they have webbed feet. I should know - I was born on the old Isle.

Put ours on last night 1st time, just 17 degs on the stat just to take the chill off

No heating on here - it might be wet and windy out there, but it's not actually been very cold yet.

Still aiming for November at the earliest before the big switch on.
