It is going to rain all day! So today is a work day for me, and tomorrow (if it stops raining) is a day off. Ah, the joys of being self-employed!

Have briefly surfaced from a morning in bed to check my email and see if the dog wants to go out (she does but will hold on, thank you very much) and am seriously thinking about going back under the sheets for a while longer. Good book, coffee, snoring dog. I've got some duck eggs so I might bake a cake this afternoon.

The first Sunday in a long time I haven't been out riding... feels very odd... and Columbo isn't even on!!
Today I shall be doing a bit of work and might clean the bike (in the shed)

Hoping it'll thunder and lightning at some point today... else the rain is wasted tut!

Looked at the weather radar 10am - hadn't reached us yet so dived out on bike. Got about 8 miles in at the top of a big hill (Chunal) and it started. Took the descent easy, then decided Chinley Head would be 'orrible (big wind, rain ergh), so shortened the route a little - still had a few 15% plus climbs to tackle, lots of tiny back roads and sharp descents. 2800 ft of climbing in 28 miles and very soggy feet. Only one idiot in a van in Glossop.

Bike now washed (thank goodness I took the training bike out) and waiting to dry before I re-oil the chain.

Just helped my daughter finish her homework - colour ink has run out so had to use the laser. Off out to get a joint for the oven, then I think I'll chill this afternoon - wife in bed not well, and I'll have a few glasses of vino, and maybe surf here !

Went to chack Red first thing then the plan was out on the bike for a couple of hours, HOWever, six broken fence posts and two very inocent looking horses meant a morning of wrestling with barbed wire and electric rope.

Back home now drying out while watching Moto gp.

Glad its rained though as the grass desperatly needs it.

Went on a 15 miler with wife and daughter, not raining at start but drenched by the end, wet clay is not fun to ride on either!
Bit of a landmark as I passed 500 miles since getting the bike, never thought that would happen so quickly.

Lovely blue sky and sunshine here [ducks to avoid mugs of tepid tea] 40 miles of the Cyclone circuit. Rain later apparently.
