Love mine. Much of the time, I have a three-second commute (though at other times it can be thousands of miles). My boss isn't too bad, though he does expect me to put in the hours when needed. Can't get away from him, though: he's here 24/7.

I like my job. I get to play with a tanker lorry and suck up big pools of cider sludge every night. Occasionally I get covered in the stuff. I have no line manager (or at least, I haven't met him yet) and as long as I do the job, no one bothers me. And I earn over £100 a night. I can't think of much I'd rather be doing.

Having retired from my work as a freelance computer consultant, I enjoy being a part-time Bikeability instructor, mainly in local schools.

Love my job... get to listen to and work with music for a living
I have been working in the Music Industry since the age of 18. Starting off going on tour with Frankie Goes to Hollywood selling their merchandise, did the same for a whole load of other bands, then moved up the ladder to tour management & support for the likes of Killing Joke, Metallica, Megadeth, Dr Feelgood, Uriah Heep, The Damned, Motorhead, Pantera, Nirvana and a whole stack of rock bands. For the past seven years have been partner in a music distribution company. I'm mainly desk bound these days.. my on the road rock 'n' roll party days are over...... for now....

Love my job, hate the management style, although the companies shown great faith and trust in me.
If anyones in a rut or facing redundancy...you just never know what's round the corner.
Engineering buyer/stock controller for 23 years, nice job, nice workplace but made redundant, and thanks to being in the right place at the right time...got offered a job as a maintenance engineer in a packing plant nearby.
No(or very little) experience at the time...and 10 years later i've learned things i never thought possible, travelled regularly to Cyprus, Spain and South America, have a deep knowledge of a range of specific Spanish packing machines, understand the basics of 3 phase electrics etc etc etc. Crikey, going to Spain to fix their machines is like selling coals to Newcastle.
I still cant believe my luck sometimes.
Trouble is, when this winds up, there are only a few plants in the UK with this machinery. Travelling or moving is the only option if i want to stay in this particular field.

I used to like my job, but at the moment my manager is disorganized, a control freak and a sophist. Doesn't make for an easy working life.
