it could do with a clean and it has a few bits of rust but nothing major that a wire brush wont sort out. i am going to replace the grip on the handle bars as its got a few little holes in but other than that i think it is a good starting point.

A track pump should be able to do the job for you...

Have I missed somethin here, why did the thread jump to suggesting he needs a new pump?

Whats wrong with the old-skool frame fit pump, fits the style of bike.

Not my cup of tea, had enough of them down tube shifters, sitting down to change gear, only 5 sprockets etc, in the eighties.

you have missed something lol i originally said i couldn't pump the tryes up enought weighing 15 1/2 stone they got some weight on them but i edited the thread and deleted that bit.

as for the frame fit pump i will keep it there as a precaution but i cant get enought air in the tyres with it

Now I understand....

I've got one of those mini pumps, Specialised I think, on my road bike. Used it the other day for the first time in anger since I bought it 2 years ago. Utter rubbish! Seem to remember old skool frame fit pump being better, more air per pump at any rate!

"Young fellow, have you given any consideration to the notion of converting it into a fixed gear bicyle?" (Is that alright Joe? ;))
