Have to say the biggest problem is not not-being-noticed, but driver then having a Clarksonesque "out of my way attidude" possibly coupled with murderous aggression. More charitable, being seen, but unable to compute what do whilst driving near a cyclist.

A fundamental change in human psychology. As has been evidenced by dozens of experiments (one of which was recreated recently on the telly in a programme presented by Daniel Kahnemann) we're terrible at seeing things we're not focussing on. Which is rather the point of the AA advert - expect to see bikes.

Whilst I would welcome naked cyclists if a driver isn't expecting to see them they won't.
