KMC quick link strech quicker than chain.

I have a park chain wear tool http://www.parktool.com/product/chain-checker-cc-2
When I measure my chain (KMC X10SL) it is .50 over all of the chain but if I measure it over the quick link it measures ~.65-.70. Should I be concerned and is it just how they are made or do they wear quicker? If anyone has a newish chain/quicklink could they check theirs and report back the measurements.

Hi fossala. I've a KMC 9spd link on my chain which has close to 300 miles on it. My cheap chain wear tool only shows .75 & 1 and the chain and link are fine.

I've noticed this in the past, but the lack of response to this thread suggests it isn't common and the replacement chains I've had since then have not worn in that way.
