Vital Stats: 4-5 day a week commuting cyclist (14mi a day), road bike. Monthly big ride (80mi+). 5' 8", 14.5st (BMI sits at 30... d'oh) Gym user twice a week (squats and core stuff). Beer drinker, chocolate consumer, not a smoker.

The issue: I took two weeks consecutive annual leave this year (the first time in 6 years bar mandatory paternity leave) and noticed some knee pain because I wasn't biking.

I have pain above my kneecap that is a constant dull ache which becomes painful when rising from sitting. Anyone else experienced this kind of pain on inactivity? If so, what the frak is it and how can I stop it from happening?

You have sinned, my son. Abstinence from cycling is a grievous error. But no matter: you can be saved yet. Resume your cycling ways, and as penance buy another steed and use it well. :okay:

(and if you do it often, but not too vigorously, the knee pain will quite likely subside after a while, too)
