Went back to the doctors saturday at a different clinic and this paramedic actually looked at the knee and said its likely i have sprained a ligament so hes prescribed naxproxen , rest and a referral to a physio. Certainly feels better than last weekend when i did push the exercises too much and set myself back.

A paramedic?
If you can, don't wait for a referral just go and see a local sports physio yourself, cost about £50 for initial consult probably.

Yes, lots of GP surgeries have paramedics on staff who are involved in triage/seeing MSK / injury type stuff.

First private physio appts now £75+ at least in the SE

As long as I breathe, I attack.
At least he bothered to look at the knee whereas the 1st doctor just gave me the pills without even seeing it .
Managed to get out of the saddle as long i used easy gears today .

If you're happy to wait a couple of months, around here anyway.

indeed , if your lucky ! looking at the local doctor website theres no on site physio .
When i had other knee problems the exercises i had via works on site physio are matching the links that the paramedic sent me so with the anti inflammatories its improving, i just need to take it slower .
reading up on the symptoms i have found it can take up 12 weeks so i need to be patient.
