The chainset is a Spidel/stronglight 106 .These were fitted to French slightly higher end bikes 70s/80s

Wasn't Spidel a not altogether successful merge of Stronglight and Simplex?

From what I understand, it was a kind of joint branding exercise between Simplex, Mafac, Stronglight and other French manufacturers. Once groupsets became a thing individually they began struggling to compete with Campag, Shimano, etc. Spidel was an unsuccessful attempt at creating a kind of over-brand so that Simplex derailleurs, Mafac breaks, etc. could be sold a single groupset. The attempt can't have been helped by the fact the Spidel parts were obviously just rebrands of the existing components and had no real design constancy across the group (unlike say, the Shimano 600 arabesque stuff).

From the pics on that classiclightweights site its a 105 bis. The 106 doesn't have holes and the 'spokes' aren't a star shape.Stronglight 105 bis
