That is bad news GrasB but you get 10 out of 10 for getting your body away from the action. I hope some of the cameras mentioned have managed to identify the car and that the driver gets his just rewards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With a bit of luck the van will have been caught on one of Cambridge's cameras, before or after the incident.

Glad you had the wherewithal to get out of the way and escape injury, even if you had to sacrifice your front wheel in the process.

Good luck with the police, GrasB.

Holy HELL! That is insane! Hope you are feeling alright!

How did the footage come out?

Don't let the police fob you off. I repeat DO NOT LET THE POLICE FOB YOU OFF! If you've got his reg, make sure they collar the driver pronto, make sure they are grabbing CCTV footage PRONTO. Get on to insurer / solicitor and start things moving their end as there is the risk the owner will just claim it wasn't him driving. Did you catch a glimpse of the driver at all? Would you be able to identify him?

What are the police like in Cambridge? They are pretty proactive over here in Nottingham and their behaviour is quite contrary to the fobbing off I've heard people getting from some forces.

Blimey!

Drunk perhaps? Or just a lunatic.

Either way you did the right thing, sod the bike and got yourself the hell out of the way.

Hope there's a result on identifying and prosecuting the driver - though unfortunately whlst driving like that should carry the same sentence as if I were to run around the street wildly swing a machete, we all know it doesn't work that way

ZOMG!

Thank f**k for your good awareness and presence of mind. That could have been really nasty.

Sorry about the bike but glad you're okay. I hope there's some way to trace the toerag.

At least there should be plenty of street camera footage - if the Boys in Blue are interested.

Cambridge Police interested in cycling incidents? Porcine Airways ready for take-off!

The ASL puts cyclists in the path of vehicles turning left? (and presumably right?)

sounds odd

seen thr google image now, quite the swept bend that and a very un London road layout

and so they should, that sort of bend is very much of the era where nothing but cars was catered for, it puts a bike in a position of danger for a long and gradual way
