No, I knew it was around there somewhere m, but it wasn't obvious to find/a bit off route, so I just kept the rhythm going.Getting on well so far!!
Did you visit the Lockerbie Memorial park?
College mascot! They're the ones I'm raising money for.
Pleased you found my 24hr sign. I often wonder how many people see it.Day 9 - Motorway Mockery
The day started by riding up the A7 out of Carlisle, before turning across to meet the unclassified road beside the M6. View attachment 608220
Before I knew it, I was in Scotland!

Dipped into Gretna Green Services for a bottle of water. Noted that there was absolutely no signage preventing you from riding onto the motorway!
Worse yet, I had to counterintuitively follow the signs for A74(M) Southbound to get back to the B7076. It's not like I snuck in the back entrance, either...

This entrance to the motorway was better signed than the bloody services!

As you no doubt know though, that map is misleading - looks as if it's pointing to the wee one in Sherwood Crescent, the street that was partially destroyed. The main memorial is on the other side of the M74 motorway, about half a mile along the A709 Lochmaben road.

Yep, I saw it in passing, and managed to read what it said. Had to double back for the photo, but it was too significant to just cruise pastPleased you found my 24hr sign. I often wonder how many people see it.
Yeah, going up through the Dales was good practice, I think. I've been finding the last few days easier than the first few days (not even considering the Cornwall monster leg). You are flying! And now that you're on the right side of the border, on roads that I am familiar with. Looks like you're around Abington tonight? The rest of it is easy, even I have managed the Scottish section of LEJOG... Just need to tackle the English bit some time. Hope the weather stays good for you, bit of rain coming in later tomorrow and Friday though.
