I haven’t seen any luggage in any of your photos. Are you carrying a rucksack?
I do have a small rucksack, yes. I could get by with it, but my parents are doing it as a road trip, so I get to have fresh clothes without carrying the things!I haven’t seen any luggage in any of your photos. Are you carrying a rucksack?
Yeah, Glasgow was a wee bit of a gauntlet to navigate. My Great Aunt lives there, so It ried to drop by, but I don't think she was in!![]()
from me, currently sitting in a flat in Glasweegieland, as you pass by ...

Oh, there was a quick link... I just couldn't find/didn't have the tool for it! I do have a chain breaking tool, but didn't fancy trying to put it back together without a spare pin. What ? No Quick-Link ?![]()
Tremendous photos– it's a great road to Glencoe but can be very busy.
I'm really enjoying your ride !![]()

Day 12 - Rest Day or TT Stage?
Finishing yesterday in Glen Coe meant I still had to make my way to Fort William - a mere 25 km.
I could afford to have a bit of fun this morning!

Under 200 miles to go now. The Cannondale got sorted out today, so hopefully that's the glitch for the mission...
It's starting to feel like the end is in sight now - I've ridden 300 km before. Not for a while, but I am feeling in pretty fine fettle!
Tomorrow is Inverness, and then I intend to make the final push to John O'Groats via the Cromarty Ferry, and onto the A9. There is a hotel in Thurso, so it is splittable if necessary.
I meant taking the chain off the spare bike... I've never actually thought of carrying spare quick links as a quick repair kit!You don’t need a tool for a quick link. That’s partly the point.
Unfortunately seems a wee bit early to be drinking. I do hope to maybe get up to Wick in time to drop by the Old Pulteney distillery, as I could probably afford a dram at that point, but it does set a hard pace. If I set off too early then it just has to be up the A9 due to timetables (probably quiet early in the morning!).There’s a little brewery at Cromarty, their Red Rocker is the stuff of legends
