Just arrived home after riding this over the last couple of weeks and it was a fantastic experience!

Opted for a supported option so bags could be carried from place to place but how we got from start to destination each day was our option. Did this with Great Bear Overland and the optional lunches provided by Carl if wanted stopped having to traipse about looking for places.

Having a Scotsman with us added to the trip as he insisted on hopping over into Scotland first and welcoming us in to his homeland with a handshake

Well done:thumbsup:

I did this back in June, I was really chuffed with myself and so should you be, it`s a massive thing to complete. How was the weather for you?

Which way are you going? Are you taking the Nomad?
yes we are on the Nomad's. Could not concieve of anything else  missing them badly! Took mine in to the specialised concept store in chester last weekend for a new saddle and one of the older mechanics/shop manager (?) was drooling all over it totally ignoring the £9,500 carbon bike behind him!

My OH is riding with me from JOG to home, via west coast and islands (Durness, Ullapool, Gairloch, Kinlochewe, Applecross, Isle of Skye, Mallaig, Kilchoan, Oban, then yet to be decided down to either Campbeltown (new ferry crossing this year Fri-Sun only though) or Arran, Adrossan, Ayr, somehow to Dumfries, Carlisle, Kirkstone Pass (used to live on Ullswater), Lancaster area, Penrith area, into Warrington to pick up the A49 to head home (A49 is fine for the section we need - we frequently cycle that bit living just off the A49), then I head off alone to LE from home - route as yet unplanned - one of this week's projects to come up with a rough idea of it.

Just had my OH's rear wheel rebuilt this week with new rim... so almost got both bikes ready now for it. Camping along the way - waiting for new tent to turn up (finger's crossed). There will be a journal on CGOAB - already started it, but still not published. will publish it when within a week of leaving. Collect the one way car hire to Inverness on Friday 6th September, so will be cycling from the Saturday evening...

Blimey, I'm jealous....I hope it goes well. I did LEJOGLE last year. This year Mrs R and I did part of the North Coast path from Esbjerg to Hoek (the Hilleberge Nallo GT2 was great).

Do keep us updated on your progress.
will do...
Have purchased a new tent for it though - may take the Hilleberg for the 2 person stage, but once on my tod, I will be in the Vaude Power Lizard 2-3P tent which we have just purchased (assuming it arrives in time... 1.4kg verses 3.6kg for the Hilleberg Nammatj 3GT, no competition for one person really!)
