Lending your bike to a friend

Je James cycles posted a pic of a new lock that is opened with a phone ap - the idea apparently is so that you can share your bike with friends. You give them the "key" to use with their phone, they find your bike and unlock it.
Regardless of the implications of this new device - my question is - do you lend your bike to a friend??
I really can't see me wanting to let even my nearest and dearest take my beloved out for a spin.
I have allowed my son to ride one of my bikes, under close supervision, but it pained me to do it.
Am I alone in this ?

No. The other day mr dragon said he was going to borrow my bike to go down to my daughters house. My thought was... were you now. ? I don't think so. Get your own bloody bike.

Yes I would lend my bike(s) to a friend.
Even though they cost a fortune I'm not that precious about them that I wouldn't lend them to a trusted friend.

i dwarf most of my friends plus with my ape like arms the bike is way to big for most people.

i may lend my MTB to one of my mates as im not to fussed about the setup on it, it only gets short spins on off road tracks and i bought a size smaller than needed

My initial reaction would be No.
However, on reflection, I would probably say "OK but look after it".
It would have to be a good friend or family member.

Lent the MTB to my nephew for his bikeability test. Lent my car to my other sister when hers went kaput.

So yes, if it was someone I trusted I would lend them a bike.

Just drop them off at my house and make sure they've been serviced.

No problem lending the bike to the left out, once to a mate so he could try out a roadie and once to a mate who had his written off.

They wouldnt be my mates if I couldnt trust them.

Anyway it's only a bi............
